The Road That Led Me Here

Business is never just about business.

The work I do today wasn't shaped by one career. It was shaped by a lifetime of asking questions, making difficult decisions, and learning that business is never just about business.

Over the years, I've worked alongside business owners and built businesses of my own. Each experience has shaped the way I think about leadership, success, and the decisions we make along the way.

I’ve always been curious.

Curious about how businesses grow, why some leaders thrive while others struggle, and why success doesn’t always feel the way we expect it to. Looking back, I realize that curiosity has been the common thread throughout my life and career.

Life eventually asked me a few questions of its own.

After stepping away from my career to raise my family, I unexpectedly found myself re-entering the workforce while raising three young daughters on my own. Those years changed the way I thought about success, security, and the decisions we make when life doesn't go according to plan.

As my career evolved, I grew into the role of CFO of a growing construction company. That experience ultimately led me to launch my own woman-owned construction firm.

Everything that mattered had been pushed aside.

Building that business was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I worked hard to establish it and watched it grow. But somewhere along the way, everything that mattered to me had been pushed aside to make room for the business.

The work was no longer fulfilling me, and I found myself asking a question I couldn't ignore.

"What is the purpose of building a successful business if it no longer supports the life you're working so hard to create?"

The answer was simple. I wanted my life back.

That realization changed the direction of my career.

Over the next decade, I worked closely with business owners and families as they navigated business transitions, financial decisions, and long-term plans. The conversations often began with numbers, but they rarely ended there.

I realized most people already knew more than they gave themselves credit for. They needed someone to ask the right questions, challenge their thinking, and help them see what they might be missing.

It wasn't solving the problem for someone that energized me most. It was the moment they began to see the problem differently.

Today, whether I'm working one-on-one with a business owner, facilitating a discussion, or speaking to a room full of leaders, my purpose remains the same: to create an environment where people think differently. Because I don't believe transformation begins with having all the answers. I believe it begins with asking better questions.

Every day, I'm still learning. My business continues to evolve, just as I do. Every conversation, every client, and every new experience reinforces what I've believed all along.
